Typically, a printmaker making an edition of prints will try to make the pieces as uniform as possible. Variable Edition Printmaking disrupts this notion, by offering the exciting challenge of using one matrix (printing plate) and hands-on interventions to intentionally manipulate each image to make them unique parts of a whole series. Printmakers of all levels are invited to take their practice to the next level with this artistic endeavor during this 5-week class with expert printmaker and curator, Casey Weibust. Casey will guide students to use a single, reproducible printing plate along with drawing, painting, sewing, and collaging elements, to customize four to five images that culminate in a finished collection of artworks. This is an especially good class for more experienced printmakers who are looking to hone their skills and develop a professional edition of prints.

Casey Weibust is an art director, educator and artist in the Rhode Island community. She received a BFA in Printmaking from Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 2010 and has taught art to all experience levels at South County Art Association, the RISD Young Artist Program and currently the Jamestown Arts Center. Casey is the Art Director at Out of the Box Studio & Gallery in Jamestown. She is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of art and advocating for inclusion and collaboration within the community.
