What is a working artist residency? A working artist residency is an group of creatives seeking to work with like minded artists.
It provides time and space away from their usual environment and obligations allowing for immersion in their work.
It provides a time of reflection, research, presentation, and production. It allows an individual to explore their practice within
another community; meeting new people, using new materials, and experiencing life in a new location. Art residencies emphasize
the importance of meaningful and multi-layered cultural exchange and a cross pollination of ideas and challenges posed by fellow
artists. These opportunities offer conditions that are conducive to creativity. Our residency is produced by contemporary artist
Theresa Girard and are generally juried with a particular criteria that is productive for the group as a whole.
