Highlighting the temporary nature of Evoker’s work as a designer and artist, Totally Radical will feature 40 skateboard decks designed for skate shops throughout New England, original drawings from skate graphics, paintings, prints, a skate ramp installation, and a large scale live painted mural. In addition to Evoker’s artwork, prints by skate photographer Karim Ghonem will be on exhibit, and limited edition products will be available from RI skate shops in celebration of this glimpse into the local skate community.

Ryan Robidoux is the artist and designer known as Evoker. His vast body of work ranges from large-scale murals to skateboard graphics. When he’s not working on project-based freelance design, Ryan acts as the exhibit preparator at the Jamestown Arts Center.

With his company Mister Mural, Ryan creates custom murals in private residences and businesses such as Frog and Toad, Bodega, Civil, and Monster Color.

In addition to creating artwork, Ryan co-curates gallery shows, including Monster Party, an interactive children’s exhibit, which most recently ran for three months at the Boston Children’s Museum. In 2014, Ryan served as the curator for OneWay Gallery in Narragansett, RI.

As a commercial artist he’s produced work for clients such as Vans, Coca Cola Japan, Nickelodeon, Loft Lab, Microsoft, The Lonely Island, and Adidas.

Ryan also produces skateboard deck graphics for companies including Hessen Mob, 7ply, Orchard, Proletariat, Civil, The Hive, Watershed, Gansett Juice, and Academy.

Ryan’s work has been featured in the books Peel: The Art of the Sticker, Street Art Contemporary Prints, Label 228, Stuck Up, and he was interviewed and featured on the cover of Surface Area Magazine issue #1.

As an artist he has exhibited paintings and installations at ICA Boston in Boston, The Wynwood Walls in Miami, My Plastic Heart in NYC, Mighty Tanaka in Brooklyn, Art Whino in Washington, D.C., Black Rat Press Gallery in London, Oneway Gallery in Rhode Island, Lab Boston in Boston, Nottingham Castle and Museum in Nottingham, Fourth Wall Gallery in Boston, Wootini in North Carolina, Bodega in Boston, Scion Gallery in Oregon, and he has a currently has a piece on display in the Street Art collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Karim Ghonem  is a local photographer who has called Rhode Island home for the better part of 40 years.  Currently residing in the South County area. Karim was introduced to action photography back in the early 2000’s when he injured his leg skateboarding.  While he couldn’t actually ride a skateboard for about a year, he figured out if he brought a camera, he could still be a part of the action, and thus his new passion was born.  In the years since then, he has broadened his horizons, and has been focusing his lens on a variety of subjects besides skateboarding.  As of late, he finds himself following his three young children around with a camera quite a bit.  Karim has been published in a wide range of print and online publications, both international and local, including skateboard publications Thrasher, Juice, Lowcard, SLAP, fitness and bodybuilding magazines such as FLEX and Ironman, as well as local print publications like RI Fit and RI Monthly, just to name a few.  While he describes himself as primarily an action sports, lifestyle and documentary style photographer, he enjoys shooting everything in between, including weddings, events, portraits and anything else you can think of.
