Georgia Marsh

Georgia Marsh was born in Olean, New York, and received her B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1972. Participating in the European honors program, she spent the previous year in Rome. Marsh lived in Paris from 1973 to 1981, when she returned to New York.

She has received many awards, including two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, an NEA international fellowship through the La Napoule Foundation in France, a Pollock/Krasner Foundation Fellowship and lifetime achievement award from the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation. She has exhibited in a number of group and solo shows in France, Italy, and the United States. Her work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Musee National d’Art Moderne in Paris, The National Museum for American Art in Washington DC, the New York Public Library and the RISD Museum of Art, among many others.  Marsh currently lives in Jamestown and New York City.
