We Stick Together
November 2020 - January 2021
Inspired by the Tape Art Crew, the JAC invited members of the public to contribute life size self portraits made entirely in tape to their latest project for the collaborative outdoor mural wall. The Tape Art movement began in 1989 in Providence, Rhode Island with large collaborative drawings in public spaces made entirely of tape. These large, mural-like works are both intricate and ornate and whimsical and accessible in their medium.
The aim of "We Stick Together." a tape art project, is to fill the community wall with all different kinds of people for whom we are thankful for this season. To learn more about the 30 year history of Tape Art in Rhode Island and worldwide, visit tapeart.com.
Read more about "We Stick Together” in the Jamestown Press.
The outdoor mural wall is located by the Douglas Street parking lot behind the JAC and is available during daylight hours beginning November 14. Tape supplies and drawing instructions are on site.
Please observe social distancing.
