Poppy Patterns Crochet Workshop

Work with large-scale crochet artist Eileen Travis during Jamestown Historical Society’s Windmill Day! Eileen will discuss the artistic process behind her art installation The Poppy Field at the Windmill, part of the 2022 Biennial: Passages, then work with you to create your own crochet poppies.

All levels welcome from crochet enthusiasts to beginners. Bring a lawn chair and yarn from home; additional yarn will be provided.

Parking will be available off of Weeden Lane on the left, just past the 1786 JHS Friends Meetinghouse.

Please note bathrooms are not accessible on site at the Windmill.

Windmill Day is usually held every odd numbered year.  On Windmill Day, the cloths are raised on the sails, and the bonnet is turned so that the sails catch the breeze. This year Windmill Day will be held on July 23, 2022, 11 AM – 2 PM with fun for all. Sails turn in the wind, children’s games, food and soft drinks.
