A free, family-friendly, all-ages day at the JAC

Autumn Arts Open House

Explore what's new at the JAC during the Autumn Open House! All ages welcome for a free, fun-filled afternoon with hands-on art making, studio demonstrations and workshops, a gallery hunt--and cider and donuts from Hard Pressed Cider Company.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

Explore the use of reflective materials in art-making during a new participatory project on the Community Mural Wall, inspired by Like You and Me, an installation by Claudia Ravaschiere and Michael Moss for the Outdoor Arts Biennial.

Create your own felted and stuffed emojis with Brooke Erin Goldstein, arts educator and curator of the current fiber arts exhibition Resurfacing

Work alongside Outdoor Arts Biennial artist Amelia Wilson to design illustrated postcards, inspired by her outdoor arts experience installation Look Outs and Letters

In the studios, join printmaker Annie DeBethune for a printmaking demonstration and hands-on activity, or explore vinyl cutting with artist-instructor Peter Converse and create your own monogram stickers. Get your hands dirty in the ceramics studio with artist-instructor Karen Dolmanisth for an activity using air-dry clay that you can bring home that day.

All activities and workshops are free and open to all ages and art-making abilities. Drop-in between 1-4 pm
